In an episode of “Hyo’s Level Up” released on November 6th, Hyoyeon mistakenly credited NCT DREAM as “SM’s First Million Seller” during their interview ahead of the group’s upcoming comeback. She further elaborated on their success by mentioning their double and triple-million seller status.

However, fans were quick to point out the inaccuracy in her statement. The distinction of being SM Entertainment’s first million-seller actually belongs to EXO, who achieved this milestone with their album “XOXO” and its repackage in 2013, a fact that was officially announced by SM Entertainment at the time.

The error sparked criticism from EXO fans, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their displeasure, with some accusing SM Entertainment of attempting to “erase history.”

To clarify the record, NCT DREAM holds a different achievement – they were the first SM artists to reach one million sales within the first week of release, accomplished with their first full album “Hot Sauce.” Their subsequent achievements as double and triple million sellers were also recorded during their respective first weeks of release.

In response to the controversy, the YouTube channel has issued a correction in the comments section and updated the subtitles accordingly, though the original hard translation in the video remains unchanged.
